Methodology & Protocol Evolution

This changelog tracks the systematic updates to the Edelweis Engineering Pipeline. We continuously refine our CAD standards, simulation solvers, and data security protocols to align with emerging industrial benchmarks and software capabilities.

v2.6.0 — May 2026

Major update to Simulation Accuracy and Multi-Physics Integration.

Engineering Enhanced Non-Linear Solver Protocol

  • Refined the convergence criteria for non-linear static analysis, reducing potential energy error norms to <0.2% for large-deformation rubber and elastomer components.
  • Updated the internal Material Library with new fatigue-life data for Additive Manufacturing (AM) alloys, specifically Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V).

Simulation CFD Turbulence Model Optimization

  • Standardized the use of k-omega (k-ω) SST turbulence models for internal fluid flows to improve prediction accuracy in high-velocity thermal management systems.

Workflow Automated BOM Synchronization

  • Implemented a new API bridge between SolidWorks PDM and enterprise-level ERP systems, allowing for real-time cost-estimation updates during the design phase.

v2.5.4 — February 2026

Maintenance update focusing on Documentation Standards and GD&T.

Documentation ISO 1101:2026 Alignment

  • Updated all technical drawing templates to comply with the latest ISO 1101 standards for geometric tolerancing.
  • Introduced "Model-Based Definition" (MBD) as a standard delivery option for Enterprise clients, eliminating the need for traditional 2D paper blueprints.

Security AES-256 Multi-Factor Auth (MFA)

  • Mandated hardware-based MFA for all external partner access to the Edelweis Secure Data Vault.

v2.4.0 — November 2025

Major update to Large Assembly Management and Lifecycle Protocols.

CAD Skeleton Modeling Architecture v3

  • Overhauled the Top-Down Design framework to allow for faster global parameter changes in assemblies exceeding 5,000+ parts.
  • Improved "Lightweight Mode" protocols to reduce file load times by 40% for remote collaboration sessions.

CAE Thermal-Structural Coupling

  • Standardized the protocol for one-way coupled thermal-stress analysis to better predict mechanical failure in high-heat industrial environments.

v2.3.1 — August 2025

Minor update to File Handover and Interoperability.

Handover Universal STEP AP242 Support

  • Standardized STEP AP242 as the primary neutral file format to preserve GD&T metadata and PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) during client handovers.

Archive & Legacy Support

Note: Documentation for methodology versions prior to v2.0.0 is available upon request for legacy project maintenance. Edelweis maintains "Version-Lock" capability to ensure that long-term projects (3+ years) continue to use the specific methodology they were initiated with.
