Initiating the Engineering Pipeline

This guide outlines the protocol for onboarding your first project into the Edelweis ecosystem. Our goal is to move from initial contact to Parametric Framework Initialization within 72 hours.

Step 01: Secure Data Ingest & NDA

Before any technical discussion occurs, we establish a secure perimeter for your Intellectual Property (IP).

  • NDA Execution: Automated signing of our mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement or review of your corporate legal framework.
  • Encrypted Portal Access: Your team will receive credentials to a dedicated AES-256 encrypted file repository.
  • Data Ingest: Upload existing legacy CAD files (Native SolidWorks, STEP, or Parasolid), technical specifications, and historical simulation data.

Step 02: Requirement Architecture Alignment

We don't just "take a brief"; we conduct a Technical Audit. You are required to provide a Project Constraint Document covering:

Mechanical Envelopes
Absolute spatial constraints and interface points.
Operating Environments
Thermal ranges, vibration profiles, and chemical exposure.
Compliance Standards
Required certifications (e.g., ISO, ASME, MIL-SPEC).
Target Lifecycle
Fatigue life requirements and maintenance intervals.

Step 03: System Environment Setup

To ensure seamless file interoperability, we align our software environment with yours.

  • Version Sync: We lock the SolidWorks year-version to match your internal PDM (Product Data Management) system.
  • Template Mapping: Integration of your corporate layering, naming conventions, and BOM (Bill of Materials) structures into our workflow.
  • Communication Stack: Integration into your Slack/Teams channel or setup of a dedicated Edelweis Sync dashboard.

Step 04: The Milestone Zero (M0) Kickoff

A deep-dive technical session between our Lead Engineers and your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Objective: Finalize the Load Case Matrix for CAE validation.
  • Output: A signed-off Engineering Roadmap with defined sprint cycles and delivery milestones.
  • Risk Assessment: Identification of potential "Long-Lead" items or high-risk structural zones.

Step 05: Pipeline Activation

Once M0 is concluded, the project enters Active Development.

  • Weekly Sprint Reviews: High-fidelity CAD reviews via 3D-streamed sessions.
  • Simulation Checkpoints: Early-stage FEA/CFD snapshots to validate design direction.
  • Version Control: All iterations are tracked via our internal Vault, ensuring 100% traceability of every design change.

Onboarding Checklist

Ensure you have the following ready before the kickoff call:

  • Primary 3D assembly of the existing environment.
  • Detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) in .csv or .xlsx.
  • Material specification sheets (if non-standard).
  • List of "Known Failures" or legacy pain points.
Next Step: Once your data is ingested, proceed to CAD Standards to understand how we structure your assembly hierarchy for maximum scalability.
